November saw the new BBC thriller series ‘Informer’ filming in one of our Newham Locations, The Silver Building!
The production took over a section of the building for scenes in the series that stars Paddy Considine (Peaky Blinders, The Suspicions Of Mr Whicher), Bel Powley (The Diary Of A Teenage Girl) and newcomer Nabhaan Rizwan.
The sophisticated, contemporary thriller is about a young, second generation Pakistani man from East London who is coerced by a Counter-Terrorism officer to go undercover and inform for him. The production have been filming in Newham over the last few months and included Millennium Mills for some scenes for the series.
The Silver Building provided a great empty shell floor for them to dress for the scenes being filmed and the large yard facilitated their vehicles for the hire.
Location manager Peter Frank commented, ‘Filming at the CT Building was really straightforward from a location perspective. When working with The Film Office, you are only working with one contact which is a much easier process. People on location were very helpful, accommodating and really try to make it work”
The Film Office director, Edward Gramolt also said, “The Silver Building (previously known as the CT building) has been a fantanstic addition to the list of filming locations in Newham. With such a large volume of space for productions to spread out in the yard, facilitating filming in the many internal rooms and warehouse spaces is straightforward.
Welcoming ‘Informer’ to the list of clients to the site has been fantastic and continued to grow the list of high end dramas and feature films we’ve had on site. We’re looking forward to seeing how their use of the space pans out in the final edit.”
We look forward to seeing the location featured on the BBC series next year!
