Queen’s Market Welcomes Lucky Man 3!

This November, Newham saw the return of the superhero television series: Lucky Man.

The series written by comic book writer Stan Lee and Produced by Carnival Films for Sky One, follows the story of Murder Detective Harry Clayton (James Nesbitt) who is granted the power to control Luck through an enchanted bracelet. The third series goes international by taking Harry to Hong Kong looking for answers about his ‘lucky’ charm.

Joining James Nesbitt are show regulars Amara Karan, returning as DS Suri Chohan, Sienna Guillory as Eve and Stephen Hagan as Rich Clayton. The first series became Sky’s highest-rated original drama series ever, so its return is highly anticipated by viewers.

For their third series, the production worked with the Newham Film Office, managed by The Film Office, to facilitate their shoot in the busy Queen’s Market – one of London’s most famous & diverse markets in the heart of Upton Park.

The Film Office managed filming that enabled the production to film their exciting action sequences that we’re sure will showcase the market as a fantastic location for the series Finale. Local market traders enjoyed being part of the filming by working closely with the production to provide the authentic market backdrop for filming.

Location Manager Georgette Turner says: “The shoot was a real success. The Film Office provided a great logistical support that helped us set up our shoot in Queen’s Market. They arranged access to the vacant unit we used, as well as organising our parking and liaising with all the departments involded at the Council.”

We look forward to the series premier in early 2018.
