Docks, Grand Designs and Returning Royals

It was a month of true contrast in Newham as productions turned their cameras to drastically different locations in the borough.

As part of their IV season the E! drama had been filming around East London, and for an episode of their returning series they came to visit…the East Ham Mortuary.

To facilitate filming at this location the Newham Film Office and the Mortuary Manager, Alan Gonzalez, worked together to ensure that filming caused no disruption to the day to day running of the mortuary.

Another royal visit this month…Kevin McCloud. The Design guru visited Newham as part of a new Grand Design episode to air later this year on Channel 4.

The Boundless Production series came to film a new build in the Canning Town Area, getting views from neighbouring streets and rooftops…so keep your eyes peeled for good views of town!

And finally, the British mobile network operator EE set sail on the Royal Victoria Dock for a new commercial showcasing Royal Victoria Dock and the fantastic backdrop to their water adventures. Newham Film Officer George Giry-Deloison says “With filming on the increase in the borough it enables the industry to utilise the wide variety of Locations on offer. We work closely with the council to bring into play all available locations the borough has to offer the industry.”
