This summer the Newham Film Office was thrilled to see a new immersive experience based on Annabelle: Creation, sending shivers down the spines of a terrified audience.
Ahead of the release on 11th August 2017 of David F. Sandberg’s latest horror film, Premier PR and Warner Brothers Pictures got in touch with the Newham Film Office to organise an immersive haunted house experience in the courtyard of the Old Town Hall, Stratford.
The new film based on the possessed doll Annabelle from the Conjuring universe sees a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.
Using the imposing backdrop of the Alice Billings House, the production set up a replica of a Victorian Mansion where courageous guests were fully immersed into the haunting set of Annabelle: Creation.
They were invited to babysit a little girl – played by 12-year-old actress Emilia Sofia Varslauskaite – while exploring the house filled with props from the film. Not long after entering the house, thanks to a combination of special effects and sound engineering the demon inside the Annabelle doll came to life and possessed the entire house, leaving the audience screaming in terror.
The experience was attended and featured by the Evening Standard.
Newham Film Officer George Giry-Deloison says “It was a fantastic immersive event that utilised the backdrop of the historic Alice Billings House to full effect at the Old Town Hall, Stratford. Newham Film Office has a vast array of locations that enable us to facilitate a multitude of requests.”
For you next project / location search simply get in touch! Hopefully the next one won’t be as terrifying…
