With the UK Film and TV industry booming, 2022 is set to be a bountiful year for filming in London and we can’t wait to see what this year brings to the borough of Newham! The Newham Film Office, managed by The Film Office has had an abundance of filming over the past couple of months, and there are no signs of that slowing down in 2022. Check out some of the exciting projects recently filmed in our beloved borough below!
Suspicion
Apple tv’s new original drama ‘Suspicion’ that follows four ordinary Brits who are accused of kidnapping the son of a prominent U.S. media mogul. They embark on a desperate race against time to prove their innocence. The production filmed at several locations across Newham including Royal Albert Dock, Royal Victoria Dock Walkway and Millenium Mills. Emily Gunn, the Film Officer who worked on the job said, “Working with Suspicion was a complex shoot to organise for the Docks. It was during the lockdown in January of 2021, so the area was very quiet, and Millennium Mills was the ideal site for them to have sufficient space for their crew to spread out over a large area. The stunts they had in mind for the scenes were complicated, as many of the motorbikes covered different sites. However, with in depth recce’s, documentation, planning, and an area consultation, the shoot went ahead really well. The crew were great at coordinating together with other teams, and marshals and security made sure everyone was safe on site at all times. Again, another large scale TV Drama to utilise the gritty exterior the Mills has to offer.” Check out the trailer for the show below!
Top Boy Season 4
