AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A FAMILY TO TAKE PART IN A TV PROGRAMME

We would like to tell you about an opportunity we have received from the Casting Executive at Wall to Wall Media.

They are looking for families with children/teens aged 10 and up to take part in a new TV series.

The programme is a special primetime five-part living history series on the Victorian East End of London for the BBC – with no acting skills required!

Filming is for a three week period over Easter 2016.

MORE INFORMATION FROM ‘WALL TO WALL MEDIA’

We are Wall to Wall Media (www.walltowall.co.uk), the production company behind award-winning programmes such asWho Do You Think You Are? (BBC One), Long Lost Family (ITV), Back In Time For Dinner (BBC Two) and Turn Back Time: The High Street (BBC One).

We are known for our living history series, we have been commissioned to make a landmark series for BBC Two over the Easter period 2016 where we recreate the Victorian East End of London and populate it with families, couples and individuals who have either ancestral connections to the East End or currently live in the area.

The aim will be to live, work and make ends meet exactly as the Victorian poor would have done.  Families will be expected to find work, master old trades and sell their wares in order to put food on the table and to make the weekly rent. We want to explore the period before the birth of the Welfare State and how the plight of the Victorian poor changed our nation for the better. This is not an acting job, but an immersive history experience for factual television.

There will be a selection process, so we are asking for anyone interested to contact us without asking for full commitment at this early stage.

We can assure you that we take our duty of care to our contributors very seriously and there will be many talks with the team here before any family or individual is asked to take part. We think it will be very challenging, but we are confident it will be a truly fascinating and unique experience for everyone involved.
